Traditionally, this safeguarding of critical or sensitive information has been referred to as &quot;Information Assurance&quot;, where absolute security of the network was the end goal. The DoD has now shifted it&rsquo;s approach. Now, a secure network is a means by which to achieve a mission, and as such, needs to be scaled to the mission. This is the new age of network security, and it&rsquo;s titled &quot;Mission Assurance.&quot; 
 
This is a fundamental shift in the way we approach network security. With this shift comes a change in the way we&rsquo;re securing networks. The next generation of mission assurance will not be compromised of tailor made applications, but of commercial products that can be easily adapted to individual missions. With immediate change in the air, IDGA&rsquo;s Mission Assurance and Information Security Summit will bring together today&rsquo;s government and industry leaders to discuss key topics and issues surrounding the new world of Mission Assurance.
